Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications was established in the year 2001, by the Japanese people and consumer electronics company is Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company was Ericsson Sony Ericsson goal was to make mobile phones. Both of the companies were started and making their own mobile phones.

The head of the company is in London, it has Research & Development Branches in Sweden, Japan, China, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and nearly around 5,000 employees were there in total worldwide established. The current President is Miles Flint, and the Corporate Executive Vice President is Ericsson veteran Jan Wäreby.

Sony Ericsson was started first joint products in March 2002 and now has a full product portfolio covering all target groups. Sony Ericsson mobile phones got tremendous demand in the market beacause of good quality, displays, stylish design, an attractive user interface, good imaging capabilities, and a large set of entertainment features.

Below we can see the how many mobiles we have sold in the year 2003 to 2005. In 2005, Sony Ericsson sold about 50 million units. In 2004 they sold about 42.3 million mobile phone units. In 2003, shipments were 27.2 million phones. With in the 2 years we can see around we got around 23 million people have incresed. They can say that how excelent feautures the Sony Ericsson is having. In the comptuation market we should have good features.

Sony Ericsson got its first profit in the second half of 2003, in part by sales of its new line of camera phones and a strong showing in Asia. To that date Sony Ericsson had steadily lost money since it was founded in 2001. In full financial year 2004 Sony Ericsson earned the net income of 315 million euro and sales of 6.5 billion euro.

According to the IT research consultants we can say that Sony Ericsson as the fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer, among Samsung, Motorola, and Nokia, and held market share of around seven percent.
